Truancy Prevention Mentor

Job Description

We are searching for a Truancy Prevention Mentor to join our team! As a Mentor you would be working with children and adolescents in the school setting who are truant from school. This position is focused on a truancy prevention and intervention evidence based practice delivered in partnership with local schools, community agencies and parents/families.

The Mentor's primary goal is to keep education a salient issue for disengaged students, families and the student's teachers. You would partner with the schools and work along side the students for a 2 year time period working to get them reengaged.  You would see the clients in the school setting and would do home visits as well. 

Must be able to work independently and be organized. Must be able to work face to face with students when needed. EOE.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a human service field required

• Valid driver's license and car insurance

• PA State Police Criminal History Check

• FBI Criminal Background Check completed through the Department of Human Services

• PA Childline Abuse History Clearance
